I would like to express my appreciation to everyone who has prayed for Glenda and me at this time. For those of you who have not heard, we are in Colorado Springs, CO with our daughter & family and our son and his family for a family reunion (our first in four years). We had been here for about 8 days, and on Friday night, Glenda complained of chest pains, and sat down, and then she fainted. We called 911 and by the time we got her to the hospital they had her on life support. The initial tests indicated that she had a heart attack, but later we found out that it was not a heart attack, but they did find 350 cc of blood in the lining of her heart. As of this time, they do not know what happened. They made an incision below her sternum and with a scope went in and removed the blood. This was all in addition to a cat scan and a echo cardiogram.

On Sunday morning, the cardiovascular surgeon came in and he told me that he had thought all night about her case, and could not figure out where the blood came from. He then ordered an ultra sound (a tube down her throat that allowed them to see the heart.) It seemed to reveal a tear in the aorta valve. In fact, they were so certain that they prepared her for open heart surgery. After she had been in surgery for 1 - 2 hours, the nurse came and told us that the aorta valve was perfect. We don't know why the ultra sound showed this tear, but they did say that the cat scan and the echo cardiogram were more reliable than the ultra sound.

During the surgery when they went into the groin, they found an enlarged lymph node gland. They have done a biopsy on this and we are waiting for the results. Please pray with us about this.

Currently, they are cautiously optimistic (presuming that the biopsy comes back negative). She will be on the ventilator until Wednesday, and hopefully, they can remove it at this time. Her heart and all of her vital signs seem to be normal, so we are hoping that after the ventilator is removed, she will begin to recover.

Please continue to pray for her.

My husband, Tim Taylor, is in Burlington on business this morning and we got a call from Pastor Jim Lake in Barre, Vermont. He is on his way to Oklahoma to take care of his dad, but he received a call on his cell phone this morning from Gene Worley, BBF missionary to Ethiopia. He tells us that his wife, Glenda, has had a massive heart attack.

They are in Colorado Springs at this time (their daughter is there and they just arrived). My understanding is that his son who is a missionary in Norway is in Colorado Springs as well. At his first call to Jim, Gene said the doctors told him the only hope was for a miracle. He did call back to tell Jim that they had drained some fluid off of Glenda's heart and that she was in intensive care.

He asked that I send this message on to you so that you can let others know so they can pray for them.

Thank you for your help.
