Prayer Letter

Another milestone! We have been working with Pastor Stephen Karanja and Pastor Godfrey Barasa for more than five years. They both graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College in Tiwi. Pastor Karanja started a church in Shanzu, and Pastor Barasa started one in Mtwapa. Both men have been actively fulfilling the Great Commission - evangelizing, baptizing and discipling.

These men have proved their character, so it was time to move to the next step: Ordination. Karanja and Barasa chose the pastors for the ordination committee and organized the meetings.

I think we had too much fun grilling these guys, because the doctrinal questioning lasted over two hours! Sunday, we performed an ordination service for each pastor at their church. It was a long day, but well worth it to present to each church Rev. Stephen Karanja and Rev. Godfrey Barasa.

Two requests: I would like to bring electricity to the churches in Shanzu and Mtwapa. Each church will need $1,000 to make this happen. It would also be wonderful to dig a well on each property - $1,500 each. Kellview Heights BC has donated $2,500 (Hallelujah!), so we are looking for an additional $500, and these people will have their own water!

Thank you all for your prayers and support! You have really helped change lives in a big way at Coastal Kenya!
