A-Town Gazette

February 4, 2010

A-Town Interruptus has been extra busy during this season! Sorry about that. We have not meant to be quiet, but that’s what has happened. Nevertheless, many have continued to e-mail us and to pray with us and for us in the ministry here, and for that, we are grateful. I just returned from a three day pastors and missionaries meeting. 3-4 times per year, all of our national pastors and missionaries, as well as we foreign missionaries, get together for a fellowship meeting. The meeting usually has a theme which is beneficial for all of us. We sing and praise the Lord together, we pray together, we have discussion sessions, and we here some good preaching on the theme of the meeting. The theme for this past meeting was “Raising leaders for tomorrow.” Simple, yet profound and needed. All of us responded well to this topic and enjoyed the various topics covered under this theme.
Here on the home front in Arusha, things have been going very well with the church, school, and clinic from a ministry standpoint. However, we have hit some roadblocks and hold ups in the continued building of the school. You may remember that some weeks ago I said, “we now have our building permit!” Well, that was only one step. There is also some other permits to be had, one of which involves the Tanzanian Revenue Authority. They have been very helpful, but, there is a process to go through. I think we have finally finished all the red tape necessary and we hope that our application is on the conveyor belt heading towards the final stamp of approval. Please pray that this will come to pass and that the building will resume. In the mean time, we have busied ourselves with ministry, and with the purchase and ordering of some needed cabinets, desks, school chairs, and other furnishings of the school.
That’s it for now....will send another update in a week or so, if the “interruptus” doesn’t get
us again! :)

God Bless!
Vernon and Mary
