Sidebottom Prayer
Letter
June 21, 2010 Dear Friends, I am not taking time to personalize this letter because you nee to receive it as soon as possible. As most of you know, Don has been blind in his left eye since 1989 because of retina detachment. We've know for several years he has a cataract on his right eye but it was growing very slowly and his vision remained good. However, during the past eight months the cataract has rapidly thickened, clouding his vision. Last Thursday, June 17, Don and his eye Doctor decided that cataract surgery is inevitable. The date has been set. Thursday, July 1st, 2010 Please Pray all goes well during the surgery and recovery period. The final post-op appointment is scheduled for August 6, 2010, after which time I will write again. Also pray the Lord will give Don grace and peace through all of this. There is a strong genetic factor of retina detachment in hs family and his Mother went blind in one eye after cataract surgery when a hemorrahage caused the retina to detach. The so call "golden years" do have their ups and downs. We are VERY grateful for your prayers and love for us. As always, we ask you to pray for God's blessing on His work ion Ethiopia. We're not on the "front lines" but we can all pray. Thanks so much! |
