SEASONS GREETINGS
The Lord has been so good to us during this year of 2001! There's no way we could enumerate all the blessings, not the least of which are the good reports about the work in Ethiopia.
As soon as we returned to The States in mid-January we "made the rounds" to our doctors and dentist.
During the spring and summer we visited some of our supporting churches and more than once were over-whelmed with the warmth and generosity of God's people toward us.
During our travels we also had the pleasure of visiting relatives and friends, some of whom we hadn't seen in years.
In mid-August we took a short 3-night vacation to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary.
It was the first time in many years the two of us had gone off by ourselves to do something "just for fun."
We thoroughly enjoyed it!!
Here in Grain Valley we attend Crossroads Baptist Church which is not yet three years old.
It is so exciting to see this "baby" church grow! We've had to rent more space several times to
accommodate our growing congregation. Now we are finalizing "the deal" on a good piece of property.
We're happy to be a part of this ministry when we're here!
On August 29th, I, Phyllis, had bunion surgery on both feet plus a hammertoe repair.
As the doctor had warned, the recovery was slow and uncomfortable but we're all pleased with the results.
My heart doctor gave me a very good report this year. Don's diabetic doctor has put him on still another medication and wants to give him one last checkup before we return to Ethiopia.
We're just not getting any younger. Don will be 68 next February and I'm 67.
With you we mourned for those who lost their lives on 9-11-01 and are praying earnestly for our nation and its leaders.
Oh, that America would turn to God for a truly heaven-sent revival!
We had a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING with our whole family at our house for at least part of the day including Chris, Nancy and our three great-grandchildren.
Now we're excitedly looking forward to Christmas when, The Lord willing, we'll all be together again.
Our tree is up, the house is decorated and the gifts are wrapped. Now, Grandma has to do some baking, --for the grandkids, of course.
It is such a blessing to get to participate in and attend the various special Christmas programs which honor our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. How blessed we are to have God's peace in our hearts and no fear of what might yet happen.
Let us look up and anticipate with equal joy His second return which surely will be soon.
We plan to return to Ethiopia in mid-January. Bro. Gene Worley has been able to arrange for us to rent a 1-bedroom apartment to use while we are there.
We are grateful for God's provision for this need. As always, there are a thousand and one last minute details to attend to before we leave.
We are so thankful for all of our wonderful friends who pray so faithfully for us.
THANKS!
Wishing you and yours God's Richest Blessings,
Phyllis Sidebottom
