Casting the Vision

Dear praying friends,

I hope you are enjoying 1999 as much as I am. I received a blessed e-mail from someone today. A one liner. No more was needed. I was again reminded of this truth, "Nothing can energize a servant of the Lord like encouragement from above." When God answers a prayer, especially of long standing, it leaves me shaking my head and saying "God, you are too good", meaning "I don't deserve this, but thanks!". Nothing could be better than walking with Him!

We leave for Dodoma today. On this ten day trip we will be recasting the vision for the Dodoma ministry. I am excited with the progress I have seen since we moved away from Dodoma almost 5 months ago. Your prayers are desired as we articulate the vision for the church this coming Sunday, January 10th [Habakkuk 2:2]. As I have sat with various leaders in this ministry, and have personally reflected at length on these past couple of years, I am much excited about these next 12 months.

The reports from the newspapers as well as individuals continue to raise our awareness again on the famine situation in the Dodoma region. It appears to be worse than last year. I am reminded that God draws people to Himself in difficult times, as was seen in the birthing of two new ministries in the last year directly out of the city church. Pray that our eyes would be open to His leading and that we would respond in a sensitive way to those who are hungry. May we have His enablement for the work at hand.

And to Him be the Glory!
