Change and Challenges... A Part of GrowthAt the end of July 1997 we returned to the field of Tanzania. Little did we realize where we would be just one year later. We were encouraged about what God was continuing to do in the work in Dodoma. This past year has been filled with a great variety of blessings and trials. We rejoice for both of those catagories and realize they have been used of our Heavenly Father to not only shape us for future ministry, but to shape His Body as well for these coming days and the challenges it will face. I am ever thankful to the Lord for the faith of His precious children in Dodoma. In spite of multiple illnesses on our team, the cholera outbreak that took many lives in the Dodoma region, the pains of severe famine, the heartaches of church discipline, and the frustration of thievery, God's Kingdom has continued to be "added unto"! And even more so during these times of trial. Three new ministries have been birthed in the last thirteen months out of our church, and several others have been strengthened. Pray for the Dodoma Church as we continue to lead it through this time of transitioning from being missionary/pastor-led to national-pastor led. We recently moved out of Dodoma to aid in that process. Dave and I will be returning monthly for a period of time to continue providing leadership into this exciting stage of church development. We cherish your prayers for wisdom and discernment as we walk together through these changes. And pray for us as a Team. We have temporarily moved to Arusha, Tanzania, and are continuing to petition the Lord concerning future location and areas of ministry. And rejoice together with us for the opportunities that lie ahead for impacting East Africa in greater ways for His Kingdom! Amy and Kristi Begin New Year at SchoolAmy and Kristi began school again this past week at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya. Our being in Arusha for these coming months will give us greater opportunity to see them. As parents, we are very pleased with the way these two young ladies continue to mature in the Lord. It has taken flexibilty as a family to engage ourselves in ministry in Tanzania. We thank the Lord for His grace and enablings. We are also grateful to those of you who have helped with our children's schooling in past days. As they begin this new year, we encourage our supporters to draw alongside us again for this added expense. We thank you in advance for any part you can share. All designated contributions should be marked "Schooling." "For the just shall live by faith."
