Baptism – Dassasgo – October 02, 2005

Sunday morning, October 02, 2005, the Fundamental Baptist Church of Dassasgo, held its third baptism with five new converts following the Lord in believers’ baptism and uniting with the church.

Abdoulaye OUÉDRAOGO, made a profession through our street witnessing Club. Alexis met him on the street July 20, 2005 and presented Abdoulaye the gospel in which Abdoulaye responded. He has been a very faithful member. Unfortunately we are hindered in our communication, as Abdoulaye knows little French.

Madi OUÉDRAOGO is the brother of Adama. As Timothée and Ésaïe were following up on Adama they had the opportunity to talk with Madi at his house. On July 22, 2005, through the testimonies of Timothée and Ésaïe, Madi accepted the Lord as his Savior. He continues to grow and exhibit faithfulness to the Lord. He has indicated an interest in the Institute.

Kadi THIOMBIANO is our house help. Last summer, while we were home for our son’s wedding, Kadi accepted the Lord through the testimony of the Cooley’s and Ésaïe. She started attending church in Dassasgo shortly thereafter and has been faithful to all of the weekly services. She is terrified of water, and has been reluctant to be baptized. This Sunday she decided to overcome her fear and unite with us.

David KORGO, while visiting his friend, Paul, stopped by our Wednesday evening services in our old bureau on May 18, 2005. After the services as we were descending the stairs, I stopped David and talked with him about his salvation. With several of the other men, Paul included, praying right there on the stairs for his salvation, David realized his need and turned to Christ for his salvation. He continues to grow in grace, even starting the Institute this month.

Douninoma KORGO is the younger brother of David. He came into Ouaga from his village seeking educational opportunities as a government official. The first time we talked with Douninoma he refused to respond to the gospel call; indicating his desire to “think about it” some more.
The following week as he and David stopped by the Institute, Douninoma stayed behind to continue his conversations with Paul, Alexis and a few other students. That Saturday night, July 02, 2005, Douninoma realized his need for Jesus Christ, repented and received the pardon for his sins. He is very excited about his new relationship with the Lord and has commenced the Institute this month.
