I was raised in a Christian home on a farm in northwest Ohio.
At age six, I heard the Gospel during a Sunday-morning worship service.
I realized that I was a sinner who needed to be saved.
When the invitation was given, I responded,
confessed that I was a sinner and trusted in Christ as my Savior.
Having surrendered for Christian service as a teen,
I prepared for the ministry in college.
I married a wonderful woman who also had surrendered her life
for Christian service.
We invested our lives in serving the Lord in local Baptist churches
while I managed a Christian television station in Northern Virginia.
In early 1994 we knew that God was leading us into a new ministry.
Looking back, we are amazed at how God prepared us for the work
He was going to call us to do.
At a Missions Revival at Battlefield Baptist Church
on September 24, 1996, the Lord called us as missionaries to Tanzania.
Joanne writes...
"Daddy, you pray," were the innocent words from a three-year-old
that pierced the heart of a 35-year-old dad.
My father had been under conviction for several years.
God used these words to convince him to seek help for the inner
emptiness in his heart.
My father and mother were saved soon after.
I was raised in that Christian home until I, too, knew I needed
a Savior.
I walked the aisle during a revival service.
I was led to the Lord by my dad that night.
I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I was eternally secure
in my salvation.
During Missions Revival at Battlefield Baptist Church in the fall
of 1996, the Lord was speaking to our hearts.
He called us to be missionaries to Tanzania, Africa.
We surrendered to His will on Sunday morning, September 24, 1996.
Our hearts have been tendered for the souls of Tanzanians.
We want to see them experience the joy of being set free from the
bondage of sin through Jesus Christ.
Our life verse
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto
thine own understanding;
in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."
-- Proverbs 3:5-6
