Making disciples
and
Planting Churches
in Tanzania!
Dear Friends,
August 2009
This letter is being written from Rhode Island as I visit my three grandkids.
I will stay for a few weeks. God is bringing healing to my heart and He has
given comfort that only can come from Him. My strength is not enough but His is
endless. My wisdom is limited but His is limitless. God's Word has given me
peace and strength through these difficult days since Tom's diagnosis of
pancreatic cancer and his death. Tom is enjoying the riches of Heaven with His
Savior and Lord. It makes Heaven a sweeter place in my heart to know that my
loved ones have went on before me. My mother went to Heaven when I was 15 and my
father went to be with the Lord two years ago. Now I have more loved ones in
Heaven as my best friend and husband went to join the heavenly band.
I hear good news from Tanzania as the ministry is growing and glowing for the
Lord. My partners, Vernon and Mary Smith, are ministering and leading the
ministries in Arusha town. Bible Baptist Academy is doing well and we continue
to pray for more sponsors for our needy children. We need 5 more sponsors who
want to help with scholarships. Each school year we have sponsors who give $360
a year to give Tanzanian children in the Olorieni area a chance to get a quality
Christian education. If you are interested in this opportunity, email me and I
will get you the needed information. This is a two-year commitment so the
children can continue without fear of losing the needed funds for their
education. Our school is four years old and is highly respected in the
community. The community leaders realize that we are giving a quality Christian
education and these children will be the future leaders of Tanzania. Pray for
the school ministry at Bible Baptist Church of Olorieni.
I am returning to Tanzania November 2, 2009. My call to Tanzania has not
changed and there is much to do in Arusha, Tanzania. I partner with Mary and
Vernon Smith to win souls for Christ and to disciple the new converts. I am the
head mistress of the school and I have a role in the soul winning ministry and
visitation ministry of Team Tanzania. I also am overseeing some of the children
ministries and help in the ladies' ministries. My zeal and my call has not
changed. Even though I return to Tanzania without Tom, I am not alone. The Lord
is my strength. The Lord is my comfort. The Lord is my Rock. Pray with me as I
prepare to return to East Africa. Pray with me as I continue our work with the
Tanzanian people. Tom told Jon Konnerup ,mission director of the BBFI,
personally that he supported me in this decision. Tom talked with our sending
pastor, Pastor K. G. Skinner, and told him his approval of me returning to
ministry in Arusha. I miss my partner of 34 years and I long to see him again,
but I am still here and there is much to do for His kingdom.
Thank you so much for your continued support of the ministries of Tanzania.
Thank you so much for your prayers for me and for my family as we walk a new
road without Tom. Pray for me as I prepare to return to Tanzania.
In His Service,

Mrs. Joanne Foltz
