Today,
Friday, we will graduate three more men from our four
year Bible Institute. It's been a long haul
due to the war. They should have graduated in December
2002, but when the war started in September of that year
we were cut off...

It's about time that we brought
you up to speed with what's been going on here in Côte
d'Ivoire. It
seems that the tide has turned and we are once again
seeing real progress. It's taken some time for
all of our men to get situated, but we're almost there... 4/3/05
Things in Côte d'Ivoire
do not seem to be improving, but we feel that God wants
us there. Barbara and I leave for "home" on Wednesday
the 6th and would appreciate your prayer. We
have a lot to do and need your prayer...

Many have noticed that Côte
d'Ivoire has hit news again. Permit me to answer
some of the questions that we have been receiving.
As we left the country in October, we had been sensing
progress in the move toward bringing the two year old
civil war to an end. A few of
the roadblocks had come down and the disarmement was
scheduled...
6/01/04
Just a little request if you don't mind. I'm going back
across the front to visit Bouaké on Thursday and
would appreciate your prayer. We don't anticipate any
difficulty, but it's been more than two months since
I was last there and thngs are always in constant change...
5/13/04
We made it back to Yamoussoukro
and are up and running. We've been messing with cars
that
wouldn't run and unpacking some of our last crates.
When Barbara is here, things just get done around the
house. There were 10 crates sitting in the house that
hadn't been unpacked due to lack of storage, but now
they're all put away. Where? I don't know...
5/04/04
Here we go AGAIN. Barbara and
I leave for Côte d'Ivoire on Tuesday morning
the 4th. We will arrive in Abidjan the evening of the
5th
and
then drive to our new home in Yamoussoukro on Thursday...
1/28/04
We went to Bouake on Friday and had good success. We
were able to get the few remaining things that we'd left
behind, see a lot of people, get most everything that
the Pastors could round up of their remaining belongings
and get back to Yamoussoukro on the same day. Not bad... 1/18/04
Writing this, I'm waiting for the flight to Washington,
D.C., the first leg of my journey which will take me
through Brussels then on to Abidjan where I'll then drive
home to Yamoussoukro...
12/02/03
I suppose that you could say that our move is almost
complete. Meaning that we're in our new house, but that
there are crates, trunks and boxes EVERYWHERE. Our garage
is full and overflowing and the driveway is full too.
The new house is much smaller than the old so we'll be
giving many things away to the Pastors that have lost
so much...
11/14/03
Tomorrow, Barbara and I will head back across the "Front".
We're going to Yamoussoukro to see if there are any
houses available and then on to Begbessou to be in
the services there on Sunday morning. Any time that
one drives down the rebel controled portion of the
highway toward the Front there is always a little anxiety.
One never knows what to expect... 11/11/03
Thank you for your continued prayer. Barbara and I
arrived at our home in Bouake on Sunday afternoon.
The trip was uneventful though a little long. The Suzuki
that we're driving now can only do about 60 mph and
along with the numerous road blocks it makes for a
long trip. The 200 miles took us about 7 hours plus
an hour out for church in Toumodi. 11/08/03
Barbara and I arrived safe and sound in Abidjan. No
problems other than those normal to a 24 hr flight.
;-(
At the moment, we're planning to leave for Bouake tomorrow morning, (Sunday).
The plan is to attend the services on one of our new churches in Toumodi and
then go on to Bouake in the afternoon...
