Dear Praying friends,
It's
about time that we brought you up to speed with what's
been going on here in Côte
d'Ivoire. It seems that the tide has turned and
we are once again seeing real progress. It's
taken some time for all of our men to get situated,
but we're almost there.
As you know, one of the highest
priority items that we are working on right now is
the construction of the church building in Gbegbessou. Our
goal is to raise $25,000 to get it closed in before
we begin our furlough in September. It's ambitious,
but we're well on our way. My concern is that
only three churches have responded to this need and
we would really appreciate your prayer with regard
to this financial need.
A new door has opened here
in Yamoussoukro. It's a long story, but suffice
it to say that we now have two works here. The
first is growing quite well and we had 58 in attendance
last week. The second will be led by Pastor Mattias
who will graduate from our Bible Institute in July. They
have already had attendances in the 30's and the future
looks bright.
Finally, we are in the throws of remodeling
a house in Kossou for Pastor Emmanuel. For a
few weeks we thought that we had been presumptuous
and that there would be nobody to send to Kossou/Angovia. Emmanuel
had become very discouraged and had planned to "quit",
however after spending a couple of days together he
found that quitting was impossible. It was a
real victory and we're moving forward again.
The works
in Bouaké, Toumodi, and Adzopé continue
to see progress albeit a little slower than we would
like to see. We must simply trust God and allow
Him to use these fine men.
Our situation in general
has not changed much. We are still surrounded
by the constant movement of the military and with occasional "flair-ups" in
the conflict. Disarmement is supposed to begin
at the end of the month, but we'll see ... The
stress level remains quite high for us, but we've seemed
to adapt to it for the most part.
Thank you once again
for your faithful prayer support and permit me to
encourage you to add these things to your list.
His in the Harvest,
Tim & Barbara
