December 2008
James Nkwasibwe was a soldier in the Ugandan army, but now he is retired from the army and is pastoring a new church. James was one of the first men saved at the Rubiri Bible Baptist Church, which was started by the Mbarara Bible Baptist Church in 2005. He joined the Bible Institute and began preparing for the ministry. After he retired from the army, he returned to his home in Kabale district and started the Ikamiro Bible Baptist Church. The church is meeting in his house, but it is growing fast, and they are now looking for property to buy for the church. They can get a plot of land for about $1,200. Please pray for Pastor James Nkwasibwe, and pray that God would provide the funds needed for this new church.
In our last letter, we mentioned several pressing needs in the ministry in Uganda, and we would like to give you an update on those projects. The money has come in to finish the Rubiri Bible Baptist Church’s new building. They are finishing it up now, and plan to have special services on December 23rd and 24th. They expect to have around 300 in attendance as they open this new building. The Rukono Bible Baptist Church building has also been finished. We are so thankful to those who contributed to these church building projects.
The Bible Baptist Orphanage dormitory project still needs about $8,000 so that they can get the dormitories built. They have gotten off to a good start already, and are hoping to have the dormitories completed by February in time for the new school term to start. Please continue to pray for this orphanage and school. The government is threatening to close them down if they don’t have the dormitories built by February.
We have also raised money to sponsor ten orphans for the next year, and have enough to sponsor three new orphans who have been waiting to get into the orphanage. There are still more orphans living in desperate conditions who are fasting and praying for someone to sponsor them into the orphanage and school. For more information on the orphans, please check out the “Orphanage” page here or from our home page. And as you celebrate Christmas, remember to pray for the orphans in Uganda. Thank you.
Wishing you a Christ-filled Christmas,
and a Happy New Year,
