“The altar was
literally filled”
On May 8 we celebrated Mother’s Day with our annual Women’s
meeting. Women gathered from six of our B.B.F.Z. churches to
hear a lesson on “Spiritual Healing,” brought to them by our
daughter-in-law, Meshelle. She did a great job of explaining how
different sins have wounded the body of Christ in our local
churches. God was speaking to the ladies and when an invitation
was given, the altar was literally filled with ladies coming to
confess sin and to be healed spiritually.
Way of the Shepherd
In an effort to spiritually uplift our pastors, their wives and
workers we prepared seven lessons from a book called, “Way of
the Shepherd” for a seminar on May 15-16. Our aim was “that
leaders will learn how to lead the people around them so they
will view their work as a calling, instead of a job.” The seven
lessons were presented by three men from the staff of B.B.C.Z.
and our son, Daniel. We learned several new things about sheep
plus how to properly use the staff of direction and the rod of
correction.
This ordination
was special
After several years of faithful service, Ken Mbewe was ordained.
He has served as my assistant in every ministry, and has been
our best interpreter and co-worker in the operation of our Bible
College after his graduation in 2000. During the last few years
he has functioned as associate pastor of Bethel Baptist, and we
could see his own burden for the church increasing. So, the
church called for his ordination. We convened a council
consisting of local pastors and my son and me. Ken’s wife,
Indira, has been supportive of his ministry and has begun
nurses’ training in order to further help her husband. Pray for
Ken, Indira, and Kendra in this new responsibility.
“I want to be saved”
Yvonne Teladia was unhappy with her church and began to attend
different ones. Her mother-in-law invited her to our church and
she decided she liked it on her first visit. On her second visit
she came forward at the invitation. When I asked her why she
came she said, “I want to be saved.” And so she was. Having
known this young woman for years we were all rejoicing.
“Partnering”
Thank you for partnering with us to reach souls here in Zambia
and to train trainers to carry on the work. We feel privileged
to be associated with you in this great ministry and open door
that is set before us. “For God is not unrighteous to forget
your work and labor of love, which ye have shown toward his
name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do
minister.” Hebrews 6:10
